QCD welcomes international students wanting to complete performing arts training at a modern and beautifully equipped facility in Brisbane, Queensland. Catering to international students seeking industry leading training in one of our four streams – classical ballet, contemporary dance, commercial dance, and musical theatre – we offer an education ‘home’ to those who choose to relocate to Brisbane for their studies and entrust us with their pre-professional studies.

As a registered training organisation, we have attracted students from across the globe and are pleased to provide study program modules curated to deliver the most comprehensive training and direct pathway to a professional performing arts career. Our objective is to deliver an exceptional curriculum and environment where students can thrive and reach their goals.

We appreciate how important the training environment is for a student’s development, which is why we continue to invest in and create world class facilities that make coming to Queensland College of Dance a joy for both students and teachers.

Students take their classes in professional studios equipped with sprung floors, wall-to-wall mirrors, air-conditioning, and audio/visual equipment. Additional training is delivered in QCD’s modern gym, with its strength, conditioning, cardio, and reformer Pilates equipment. All facilities and equipment are clean and well maintained in accordance with work health and safety regulations.

Our Faculty

Across all four streams our teaching faculty is made up of former professional dancers and performers who have excelled in their respective fields, as well as current professionals who are leading the way in dance and performing arts. Teachers are selected for their qualifications, experience, fit with QCD values, and demonstrated commitment to our students’ advancement towards achieving a professional career in their chosen art form.

Where is QCD?

Convenient location. A welcoming community.

QCD is conveniently located in Brisbane’s inner northern suburb of Kedron. The college is just seven kilometres from the CBD and a five-minute walk from excellent public transport options, food and department store shopping, medical facilities, and café and restaurant dining options.

Whether you choose to live with a homestay family or in student accommodation, there are ample options. Kedron and surrounding suburbs, such as Stafford, Gordon Park, Windsor Chermside, Bowen Hills, and Kelvin Grove are popular with international students, as is the Brisbane CBD & Fortitude Valley.

Access to numerous public transport options make getting to and from college each day a manageable exercise. Choose from regular bus and rail services depending on your home base. Limited street parking is available for students with their own car.

Kedron is a vibrant inner-city community that is well known for the Kedron Brook, which flows through it. Public parks and dedicated green areas are a feature of Kedron, making it a welcome hub for those travelling internationally to study with us.

Every effort is made to assist our international students to integrate into their new environment and student life at QCD. Under guidance from our dedicated Administration Team and International Officer, students can expect a warm and welcoming college environment for the duration of their studies. In addition to becoming proficient and competent performers, we find our international students grow in confidence both as individuals and professionals.

Why Queensland College of Dance?

We recognise technical training is just one aspect of creating a performing artist, and with that in mind we offer a well-rounded baseline of support for students, including a full-time onsite Education Manager to supervise coursework and oversee program delivery. Open, transparent communication is key, and in this regard our administration team is a valuable conduit.

Our ethos of education is demonstrated in a philosophy that strikes a balance between support and challenge, allowing teachers to nurture the student while simultaneously striving for continuous improvement and growth in the individual. Structured training delivered via registered coursework and complemented by regular performances, means students learn to harness their own resourcefulness and hard work to achieve their individual goals.
